Autobahn A2 until exit Gütersloh/Verl. Right after leaving the autobahn turn right and cross district Spexard. At the first big crossways after Spexard, turn right on the B 61 (indicated directions: Bielefeld, Gütersloh-Nord, Bertelsmann/Miele). Turn right again at the third crossways into the Carl-Bertelsmann-Straße (indicated directions: Avenwedde, Friedrichsdorf, Bertelsmann). You will find the gateway to the Bertelsmann Stiftung on your right side, oposite a gas station. The visitor´s reception is situated in the glassy main pavilion to your right hand.

 

The closest airport is the regional airport Paderborn/Lippstadt in Ahden (approx. 45 km distance to Gütersloh). From the airport you follow Bundesstraße 1, direction Paderborn, then you take A 33, direction Bielefeld. At Kreuz Bielefeld follow A 2 direction Dortmund until exit Gütersloh/Verl.

The biggest airport in the region is Hanover (approx. 120 km distance). From Hanover airport you reach Gütersloh by train, or by car via Autobahn A 2 (see above).

Further possibilities to reach Gütersloh by plane are the regional airports of Dortmund (approx. 60 km distance) and Münster-Osnabrück (65 km). From Dortmund you take the A 2 Oberhausen - Hannover. From Münster the quickest way to reach Gütersloh is Bundesstraße 64 (via Warendorf).

Intercity trains heading for the ICE-stations Bielefeld or Hamm make regular stop overs in Gütersloh.
